STEAM Internship Spotlight: Professional Writing

Seven interns in the writing program

StudFinal Book Frontents from the Writing Group add the “A” into STEAM on the St. Andrews campus with a new collaboration between Creative 360 of Midland, MI, and MSU.  Students including; Madeline Champagne (Nouvel Catholic Central High School), Emily Coston (Midland Christian School), Brooke Duley (Freeland High School), Shane Hogan and Meghan Killmaster (both from Dow High School), and Kyla Richardson and Jahdiel Wingard (both from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy), have worked this summer to enhance their professional writing skills.  Under the mentorship of Deborah Cull from Creative 360, these students have practiced numerous writing and communication styles to understand how to adapt their writing to meet several purposes. The target styles included: creative fiction, creative non-fiction, writing for business, persuasive writing, reporting and journalistic writing.  Students will wrap up their internship with writing for a presentation.
