STEM “Stew” Camp
MSU St. Andrews hosted a STEM “Stew” Camp from August 21 to August 24. The four-day camp had 17 middle school students participate from Midland and the surrounding region. The camp offered students opportunities to learn and participate in activities about water filtration, 3D printing, chromatography, polymer reactions, and food science. The camp’s final day included a field trip to Michigan State University in East Lansing, where the students toured the MSU Museum and Abrams Planetarium.
The sponsoring organizations included the American Chemical Society – Midland Section, the National Organization for Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers ,the Society of Women Engineers, the Society of Plastics Engineers, and MSU St. Andrews.
