NEW Photosynthesis Workshop for STEM Teachers

Branch of a green plant

This hands-on workshop will provide participants with an overview of photosynthesis, the process by which plants transform light energy into chemical energy. Following a classroom presentation, participants will move to the lab, where they will use a Colorimeter or Spectrometer to measure color changes due to oxidation during photosynthesis. Participants will study the effect of light on photosynthesis, and compare the rates of photosynthesis for plants in different light conditions. Participants will receive student lab protocols, teacher instruction manuals, and a list of the materials needed to perform the laboratory exercise in their classrooms.

This workshop is recommended for STEM middle and high school teachers. Workshops are free to area teachers and include lunch.
