Madylin Sherman, a research assistant at MSU St. Andrews, currently contributes to various research projects, including chemical synthesis and process chemistry. Additionally, she mentors high school students engaged in projects at St. Andrews.
She graduated with honors in 2023 from Michigan Technological University, obtaining a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During her tenure at Michigan Tech, she conducted research on microbial ecology and protein chemistry, focusing on neurodegenerative diseases. Furthermore, Madylin completed an internship at Impact Analytical in Midland where she gained valuable experience screening and testing consumer products.
Madylin’s association with MSU St. Andrews began in 2018 as a Summer Research Intern and continued as an Intern Mentor in 2019. Throughout these summers, her work primarily involved the development of non-global warming/ozone-depleting refrigerant precursors and antimicrobial synthesis. She is excited to return to MSU St. Andrews as a staff member.
