Using Vernier Sensors for STEM Classroom Activities

February 25, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm EST

Join us for a two-hour workshop using Vernier Sensors for STEM classroom activities. There will be opportunities to explore various sensors with hands-on training. The sensors include accelerometer, motion detector, photogate, picket fence, colorimeter, pH, and many more. All sensors will be divided into groups by disciplines such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental/Earth Science, and K-8 Science Education.

After a brief training on data collection and use of the Data Logger software, you will be able to work with the sensors for which you may be most interested. This workshop will also provide opportunities to connect with peers and share ideas and experiences using sensors in the classrooms. We will help answer any questions about Vernier sensors in general, including sensors not on our list, connecting sensors with computers or an iPad, collecting data, calibration of sensors, etc. If you would like us to help you with sensors you already have (including accessories), you are welcome to bring them in.
